  1. I came across your blog looking for experiences of American people living in the Balkan region.
I am from ex Yugoslavia myself, from Bosnia to be precise, and have been living in the US for 7 years now. I miss a lot going back there for a summer trip but this summer we have other obligations. I perfectly understand how pretty it is on the Croatian coastline. That is where I want to take my American husband, so your blog post and experience can be a good starting point. For this year it will have to wait. How long have you lived in Serbia? Do you guys plan to live there forever? I have been to Serbia, pretty much all of the former Yugoslavian republics. It is always nice and inspirational to read posts from somebody who goes to live back in my old country.

    • Hi Rebeka! Nice to hear from you. I haven’t been to Croatia yet. It is high on my list. But the muz is not eager to go there with our Serb car tags. 😦 Hopefully we can go soon. Or just me and my little bean would be fine! I know Americans are welcome there! LOL We aren’t sure how long we will be here. We have a little toddler so being here for now is just fine for me. But I do get anxious. I miss my friends, family and having a job. We just moved here in November, but we visited two previous times for five months. Thanks for the compliments. I am sure you would understand my first blogs that I wrote so long ago on my first visit. I had a group of Croatian and Bosnian friends in NYC who said the same thing. One was our Kuma, also a Bosnian like yourself. 🙂 Here is a link to one of my fav old Blogspot posts:http://lafemmet.blogspot.com/2011/02/old-house-international-holidays-of.html Your English is Amazing. You must have moved there as a child? Please visit and comment as much as you like. I love to hear what people think even if it is critical. I have lots to learn… first of all, Srpski!
